The chateau Belveder is situated about 1 km north of Valtice. The unlabeled and 250 meters long unpaved road leads directly to the object. The Empire style building was built on Liščí vršek (The hillock of a fox) in 1802 by Joseph Hardmuth. The prince wanted to build a "nice pheasantry."

The interior was decorated in the Chinese style and therefore some rooms were equipped by precious porcelan. The pheasants were breeded here to entertain the then visitors. The guests especially appreciated the spectacular view of the Palava hills (Pálavské vrchy) and the nearby town Mikulov which was surrounded, as now, by numerous vineyards.
